Tuk-Tuk Miracles

Here in Cambodia we obviously have no car to get around so we have to call a “tuk-tuk” which is basically a taxi. Fortunately for us, just a mere 3 months ago an app was invented for smart phones called PassApp that will enable you to order a driver and within minutes through GPS will have the nearest driver arrive on the scene ready to drive you across town for usually less than a dollar. What timing!

Anyways we came across a driver named Riti (reh-tea) who was (still is) very kind and courteous, and to our luck speaks english fairly well! Over time we began to learn a little more about him and his family and we began introducing the gospel to him. Just recently he invited us to come to his home to eat some food his wife was preparing, and of course we jumped on the opportunity, it was a sweet gesture on his part to say the least. But when he invited us we had just bought some groceries from a local store, so we had him drive us to our apartment first to drop them off. As we brought the groceries in we had Riti come inside while we prepared to leave the house again. Within a few minutes of him being there he began to be puzzled by these sensations he was experiencing being around us. He said that when we walked through the door of our home he began feeling this peace, and joy, and this intense feeling like we were long lost friends as though he had known us for a very long time. To him we felt like family and that he was home. We explained to him that the reason he was experiencing that was because the Holy Spirit was touching him, and revealing Jesus to him. That he lives inside of us and is flowing through us to him, or words to that effect.

I(Aaron) then began to play an american worship song (holy by Jesus Culture) that with the help of a translator had recently translated into Khmer (cambodian language.) My eyes were closed haha, but Yelena said that he had a look of shock, and perhaps bewilderment, as though he was experiencing something supernatural through the words and music he was hearing. So after this we left and went to his home.

To our surprise he lived along the river in a tiny shack pieced together with warped boards and aluminum sheet metal and no A/C. We began to talk about the gospel but before that I asked if anyone had pain, and Riti said his back was hurting from constantly sitting all day long in the tuk-tuk, and that his neck hurt as well.

So my wife started video recording her phone and we then prayed for him once and asked how he felt and he said that this quiet sound came to his ears and he felt a peace, but he had trouble really putting into words what he was feeling. Then he told his wife in Khmer what was happening to him, and our friend Mony after seeing the clip of us praying for him was able to translate what he said. He basically shared that he felt like he was in the twilight zone. It kinda sounds to me like he went was going off in the Spirit, being increasingly detached from his earthly surroundings, at least that’s the best i can make of it. So after that we prayed once more and he said that the pain in his back and neck were completely gone after testing it. I then went in depth explaining the gospel to him and he was really all ears. Since that moment and even before that he is expressing a faith in Christ, and a desire to follow Him and know more and more, if he is not born again already, I can tell that he is well on his way to a God-encounter that will transform his entire life, please please pray for him and his family that they will all be born again and set ablaze with the fire of the Holy Spirit! Praise God!!! 🙂
